Digital Empowerment for Rural Youth addresses the widening digital divide in underserved regions of Nepal by providing young people with practical digital skills and access to technology. The project targets youth from rural and marginalized backgrounds with limited exposure to computers, internet literacy, and online learning platforms. Through a mobile digital lab and community learning centers, Inspire Youth Nepal delivers training on basic ICT skills, digital safety, graphic design, and freelancing opportunities.
Workshops are conducted by trained digital facilitators, and participants are encouraged to apply their learning to start micro-enterprises, support community initiatives, or access online education. Special modules also introduce youth to digital tools for civic engagement and e-governance. To promote inclusion, 60% of the participants are young women and youth with disabilities, with dedicated support systems in place.
Over 1,200 youth have graduated from the program with foundational and intermediate digital skills, many of whom have since launched small businesses or joined remote work platforms. The project is helping to unlock economic opportunities in rural Nepal while ensuring that young people are not left behind in the digital revolution.
