Youth are already in the frontline to transform the cities into the smart villages. We are here to build and reshape our communities to build the bright future for our upcoming generations. At Inspire Youth Nepal, we actually believe that the real stories and real impact of courage, innovation and resilience are the true testaments to Nepal’s bright future.

Driving Change: The Power of Youth Voices

Youth are without a doubt our future. Meanwhile, they are the present as well. Across Nepal, youth are driving the social, environmental and economic change with right passion and purpose. Inspire Youth Nepal is dedicated in producing the youth who can tackle the climate issues, advocating for education specially for the marginalized and underprivileged communities, pushing for the gender equality and young leaders who can turn ideas into the action.

Real Stories, Real Impact: Youth Rising on the Frontline

Behind every youth movement, there are real stories of dedication, determination and real impact on the designated aspect. We had the solid impact during the COVID-19 lockdown where we mobilized a team of volunteers to deliver food and medicine to the affected families isolated by the pandemic. Our grassroot effort not only saved lives, somehow created the base to the strengthened community bonds in a time of crisis. Along with this, we initiated the training for specially focusing on the women to produce the medical mask who helped to reduce the shortage of medical mask at the time of crisis.

Likewise, Inspire Youth Nepal also organized the campaign of sanitary pad distribution to showcase the assertive protest against the government increasing the price of the sanitary pads. During this, youth tirelessly raised voice for the girl’s education in rural areas and made this possible via workshops, scholarships and advocacy. This initiative also helped dozens of girls stay in school and dream bigger than ever before.

These are some of the real stories that have made he real impact where the youth are rising on the frontline to make the base for the society to progress on good hands. The youth’s impact is tangible and the commitment is unwavering.

Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges

One of the challenging aspects in the context of Nepal is to break the barriers and build the bridges to transform the dogmatic into the conceptual thinking. In many parts of Nepal, marginalized groups face the systemic barriers and the youth changemakers are breaking these walls and creating the harmonious bond among the people. Our collaborative projects, digital platforms along with the cultural events where youth fosters dialogue across different ethnic, gender and social divides have really impacted in a positive way.

Systemic barriers vary in different context as:

✅ Education: Participation of Poor rural schools’ students with limited funding or resources compared to urban ones.

✅ Employment: Policy of Hiring practices that favor people from certain backgrounds or networks that helps them grow personally.

✅ Gender inequality: Contemplating the Laws or cultural norms that restrict women from owning property or accessing leadership roles within our society

✅ Caste or ethnicity-based discrimination: The deeply rooted discrimination eradication campaign bringing harmony in the society

✅ Disability access: Building the Infrastructure that does not accommodate people with disabilities (e.g., no ramps or braille).

Meanwhile, a youth group in Kathmandu recently launched the campaign of promoting the mental health awareness where people in our society still take it as the stigmatized aspect. Our authentic storytelling and peer support networks have supported thousands across Nepal and we feel majority of the voices are heard.

Innovation meets Tradition

Innovation without preserving the tradition is not worthy. Thus, our every initiative is solely focused on preserving the tradition and making the campaign accordingly. Basically, Kathmandu Valley is the garden of multi culture, multi religious, multi lingual and multi ethnic groups people. Thus, preserving the tradition and honoring cultural roots with norms and values harnessing technology and social media to amplify voices is our main moto.

We have created the bond with various trekking and tour agency who provide the local guides from various ethnic communities to provide the real information about the area and the society. Our aim is to boost the social enterprise selling the traditional handicrafts globally and boosting local economies empowering youth to lead with creativity and cultural pride.

Challenges and the Road Ahead

While the innovative ideas are abundant, challenges remain. The prevailing problems are limited access to quality education, employment opportunities and resources. It has hindered the youth potential. Moreover, COVID-19 has also exacerbated the problems in people mentally and financially till the date and thus, to build nation economically and strategically Inspire Youth Nepal is seeking to fight against the upcoming challenges and problems.

In spite of having these challenges ahead, Inspire Youth Nepal provides mentorship, platforms and support to amplify the youth voices and solutions. We invest the youth led initiatives and fostering partnerships between the communities, local NGOs, government and the private sectors who can realize the youth potential and ensure one’s success in future.
